Bratislava is extremely well connected and super easy to reach. Since the city is located right at the tripoint of three countries (Slovakia, Austria, Hungary), you can get there from Vienna, for example, in no time.

• By car:
  • You can reach the city center quickly via the motorway.
  • Remember that you need a digital vignette for Slovakian highways. Don't buy it from a third-party vendor, but from the official sales outlet here . There are many third-party vendors online that look exactly the same, but they end up charging you high and completely unnecessary service fees. You won't pay a single cent extra on the official website.
  • You can also take the last exit in Austria - it's a minimal detour).
  • The best place to park in the historic old town is in the excellent, but not exactly cheap, parking garages right on the edge of the pedestrian zone (e.g., Garage Centrum, Parkhaus Opera, or in the Eurovea shopping center). (As of March 2026):

• By train/bus:
  • From Vienna, trains and buses (e.g. Slovak Lines or Flixbus) regularly travel directly to the city center in under an hour.
