While most tourists queue up in Belém, locals swear by the manteigaria (for example, right on Praça Luís de Camões in Chiado). Order a "bica" (a typical Portuguese espresso) to go with it, and be sure to sprinkle your pastel with cinnamon and powdered sugar – that's the taste of Lisbon in its purest form!
